Looking for Coaches!

Thunder JO Volleyball is Looking for Coaches for the 2021-2022 Season!

Are you interested in coaching at Thunder JO Volleyball for the 2021-2022 season? Please reach out to Whitney Markson, our coaching advisor, to complete the next steps! See below for more information regarding this potential role!

Our mission at Thunder Volleyball is to develop well-rounded athletes into the best people they can be by providing competitive, thriving, and excellent volleyball teams. We want our athletes to leave each season both as better athletes and as better people.

We offer traveling teams for U12-U17. Our season starts at the end of October for U12-14 and in mid-November for U15-17.

As a coach, your time commitment is two practices per week (typically on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday) for 2.5-3 hours each practice. During practices, we obviously practice volleyball skills, but we also do SAQ and mental training in that practice time. Additionally, there are approximately 10 tournaments from January-May that you are required to attend. This is 2-3 tournaments per month with some being 1-day tournaments and some being 2-day tournaments.

As a coach, you are paid depending on the amount of experience you have and the amount of experience the other coach on the team has. You will receive some gear as well to help you feel comfortable coaching including 2 practice shirts, a warm-up jacket, warm-up pants, and a backpack. To help our coaches continue to improve & learn, we pay for our coaches to attend one coaching clinic per season and have premium access to the Art of Coaching Volleyball website. You also have the support of a coaching advisor throughout the season to assist you with various needs or issues that arise.

If you are interested, the next step is a conversation & interview with the coaching advisor, Whitney Markson. Please email thundervbjo@gmail.com if you are interested.
