We will also hold Positional Practices & Guest Coach Practices throughout the season to provide improved coaching to all players.
Practice/Training Schedule Changes
We try to make sure that practices are scheduled on a consistent basis. That said, since we are using schools to practice in, we have to schedule around other sports also using the facilities as well as school events. As a result, times and dates for scheduled practices may occasionally change at the last minute. Should that be the case, you will be notified of the change by your coach and/or our website.
Absences should be reported at least 5 hours before the start of practice, ideally with more than 24 hours notice.
- Any unexcused absences will result in loss of playing time at the discretion of the coaches.
- 3 tardies will result in loss of playing time at the discretion of the coaches.
All players are required to have gym/volleyball exclusive shoes that are NOT worn outside and volleyball appropriate clothing. It is recommended that players wear knee pads.
In order to prevent ankle sprains, the most common injury in volleyball players, it is HIGHLY recommended that they wear ankle braces. Studies have found that ankle braces are effective in preventing initial ankle sprains & can be helpful in preventing recurring sprains. The most effective braces are ones that protect the lateral & medial ankle as the side of the ankle is the most common location for injury. Two ankle braces that protect the lateral ankle is Active Ankle T2 Brace (https://www.activeankle.com/products/rigid-ankle-braces/active-ankle-t2.html) or the Ultra Zoom Brace (https://www.ultraankle.com/product/ultra-zoom/)
