Thunder VB: COVID-19 Reminder
by posted 04/14/2021

Hi Parents & Players,

First of all I want to continue to thank everyone for all you've done to make this a GOOD season despite all of the challenges with Covid protocols, lack of spectators at tournaments, lack of team and parent bonding opportunities, etc.  It has certainly been a difficult season for everyone in the Thunder family.  We are so thankful though that we've been able to coach and play in tournaments this year!

Last night I did hear from a player that 60-70 student's had been sent home from school because they were exposed to someone at school (who went to school after being tested, but hand not received results - unfortunately the results came back positive).  Unfortunately Thunder has been indirectly impacted on 2 different teams.  On one team there were 2 players who tested negative but were exposed, and 1 player on a different team.  Both of these players are now in quarantine for 14 days, and will be missed at the upcoming tournaments!

PLEASE continue to do all you can to limit/reduce your exposure (masks, distancing, etc.).  And as always if you have been exposed or have symptoms stay home. We know that it has been a LONG road, and hopefully we are close to getting back to "normal".

Duluth Cup and Weekly Update
by posted 04/11/2021

Hello all,

Here is the practice schedule for this week as well as information regarding the Duluth Cup tournament on the 18th.

Monday 4/12 7:30-9:30 PM at Burnsville High School

Thursday 4/15 7:30-9:30 PM at Burnsville High School

Duluth Cup

Location: Duluth Indoor Sports Center (DISC) 4402 Rice Lake Road, Duluth 55811

Please arrive at the facility by 7:25 AM so that when doors open at 7:30 AM we can proceed to our court.

Current schedule: Play at 8 AM vs. Club Tonka 16- Mac; Play at 9 AM (or immediately following match 1) vs Lakes 15-1; Ref at 10 AM (or immediately following match 2). All of our pool play matches will occur on Court 2.

Once matches conclude, we will move into bracket play. We will be a part of matches at 11, 12, and 1. In those matches, we will play twice and ref once- the order of this depends on how we do in pool play and then in bracket play.

We are allowed 10 spectators. Please remember to send Coach Kevin your name if you are the spectator attending. Cost is $10/ticket. Spectators will be asked their name and will pay for entry once temperature has been taken. We are unsure of spectator seating at this time, so we recommend having a chair in your car just in case.

Players, please have BOTH jerseys with you in case we need to change.

Concessions will be available, and there is a request for no outside food (stick lunch bags into player backpacks). We may or may not have a chance to eat a full meal, so smaller snacks are recommended. Additionally, please have two water bottles with you in case there is not time to refill them between matches.

As always, let us know if you have any questions. Watch for information from Melissa and Suzanne about a team dinner on Saturday evening.

Hello all!

Due to the low number of players tonight, we are going to end practice at 8:30 PM instead of 9:30 PM. We want to ensure the safety of our players, and the fewer players we have, the more likely an injury is to occur due to increased repetitions.

Please let us know if you have any questions.
