Thunder VB: COVID-19 Reminder
by posted 04/14/2021

Hi Parents & Players,

First of all I want to continue to thank everyone for all you've done to make this a GOOD season despite all of the challenges with Covid protocols, lack of spectators at tournaments, lack of team and parent bonding opportunities, etc.  It has certainly been a difficult season for everyone in the Thunder family.  We are so thankful though that we've been able to coach and play in tournaments this year!

Last night I did hear from a player that 60-70 student's had been sent home from school because they were exposed to someone at school (who went to school after being tested, but hand not received results - unfortunately the results came back positive).  Unfortunately Thunder has been indirectly impacted on 2 different teams.  On one team there were 2 players who tested negative but were exposed, and 1 player on a different team.  Both of these players are now in quarantine for 14 days, and will be missed at the upcoming tournaments!

PLEASE continue to do all you can to limit/reduce your exposure (masks, distancing, etc.).  And as always if you have been exposed or have symptoms stay home. We know that it has been a LONG road, and hopefully we are close to getting back to "normal".

Hello Thunder!

As I’m sure you may have heard from your daughters, we are sad to say that we have lost Carly and Emily from our team. They both had their own reasons for leaving the season early and we wish them both the best of luck!

We have two more tournaments this season. We have a twin city tournament on Sunday the 25th and back in Rochester the first weekend in May.

If anyone has any questions we will do our best to answer them.

Have a great rest of your week!

Go Thunder!

Tournament Info

Hello all,

So I am going to explain this the best I can but if you have ANY questions please let Krista and I know.

After reviewing the schedule I have concluded that if we do not win any games on Saturday we will not play until 4pm on Sunday. If we get first or second in our pool on Saturday we will be placed into a Snake Seed bracket. A Snake Seed bracket is the same format as Shakopee. Meaning if we win we play the another winning team and if we lose we play another losing team.

If we get third or fourth we will be placed in a “normal” bracket.

The best thing for all of us to do would be download the AES Express app if you haven’t already so you can follow the schedule yourself.

Things to note for players and parents:

• 12pm & 4pm session teams can enter the facility when the

court number they play on is posted in the front lobby windows. For most this will be approximately 30 minutes prior to scheduled start time.

• Parents do not leave unless you know your player can come inside. The session ahead of you may run late and we cannot let the next teams in until the previous teams have left

• Please utilize the hand sanitizer provided when entering the facility and maintain social distancing of 6 feet apart.

• Remain socially distanced if there is a line.

• Go directly to your court and place your bags as a team in front of one of the bleachers just inside the gym.

• Teams need to get ready in their gym immediately following their last match and be ready to walk directly to the exit door.

As of right now I don’t have any information about the picnic. So when I get that I will let everyone know :)

Again, please don’t be afraid to ask questions! Krista and I are here to help.

Thank you,

Liz and Krista

Hello all,

First off, please try to have your players on time to practice Tonight (meaning 15-20 minutes before the scheduled start) so they can catch up with one another since we have been off a week.

Next, I don't know about you but I am SO excited for the tournament this weekend!!!!

The schedule has been posted so I attached a screenshot or you can go to this link:

Our first game is at noon. We play at Century High School which is connected to the volleyball center we played at last time.

As for the picnic, I am looking for a couple volunteers who can coordinate this.

I think we should do the picnic after the girls play on Saturday.

Please let me know if you are interested in volunteering. :)

All matches will be live streamed using Meridix Streaming. Streaming per device will be $8/day or $15/weekend. Please use Court 1 as the primary court to buy tickets. You will have access to all courts used for the tournament

You may access the tournament streaming through this link:

That's all for now.

Rochester weekend
by posted 04/04/2021

Hey everyone,

I do not have the schedule yet unfortunately, but I do want to talk about Rochester real quick.

A couple parents have reached out to me and asked if we can do a picnic in Rochester.
I love this idea. So I wanted to see how everyone felt about it. Please email me if you have any concerns.
Or if your player/family will not be joining. I do not know when this would be since I don't know the schedule so details would come later this week.

Please email Krista and I we are here to openly discuss and we respect your decision.

Thank you,

Liz and Krista
